皆さん、「食べログ」はご存じですか？レストランの口コミを集めたインターネットのサイトです。アプリもあります。先日、トロイさんにアメリカ版の「食べログ」のサイトを教えてもらいました。「Yelp」と言います。イェルプと読みます。調べたら、日本のレストランのレビューも載っているので、良かったら見てみて下さい。検見川のインド料理「シタール」のレビューがこのように載っていました。
My mom and I arrived around 7pm on a weekday and we were the last one to get a table without a wait. Soon after people were seated at counter or waiting outside. As the space is very limited, they do not take a reservation. And the turnover is very slow....the food takes a while to come out and it takes you a while to finish the food as you use your hand for naan and dip into all the different kinds of curry. I had a dinner set comes with butter chicken, keema curry and shrimp curry with the sides of rice, naan and a drink ( 1890 yen).
読んでみると結構意味が分かりませんか？カレーのナンnaanやキーマカレーkeema curryのスペルも分かりますね。食べ物の情報って想像しやすいし、読みやすくて良いと思います。皆さんの近所のレストランも載ってないか、ちょっと覗いて見て下さい。（インターネットで「Yelp」で検索。ホームページの「Find」の欄に日本語で良いので、レストラン名を入力すると、情報が出てきます。）我が家の近所の小さなソバ屋も出てきました。英語を読む良い練習になるのでレストランを探すときには「食べログ」ではなく「Yelp」を使ってみてください。
